What should I say to her?

i just told a good friend of mine (who ive know for a couple months now) that i have feeling for her. The situation just became awkward because when I asked how she felt she said she was speechless, didnt know what to say and said she had never 'thought of me in that way before'. shes never been in a serious relationship before so im wondering if i made the right choice in being completely direct. her friend said she felt immature about the whole situation from her standpoint and how she dealt with it at the time. we plan to meet sometime this week and talk... do you have any idea of what i should say to her?? maybe something that might put favor on my side because she hasnt said whether she could feel the same way too and maybe she just needs to feel more secure? and where should i talk to her? in a public place to seem less awkward?
