How can I remove Sticky Residue form my laptop?

I have had my laptop for about 5 months now, and there was a sticker that came with it that was getting scratched, so I decided to remove it, but when I did, there was still some adhesive and white glue-tipe thing left behind, I have tried using Alcohol, Nail Polish Remover, Vinegar, Cooking Oil, Perfume, Even some Bacardi rum, and it wont come off. Can anyone please tell me what to do?
