What is the best scotch?

My boyfriends birthday is coming up and I want to get him a great scotch whiskey. I wanted to know what the best of the best is. any recommendations? he likes Glenlivet but hasn't tried the 21 year yet. my price range is around $100 - $200 but if you know of one that's a bit higher and will just knock his socks off please let me know. so guys..whats good!? :D
