How do re-financing and the deed of a home correlate?

I own a property jointly with my brothers that was originally bought in trust. My brother is the trustee and our relationship is strained. He has stated that in order to re-finance the house to a lower monthly payment my name must be removed from the deed in order for him to receive financing. My credit score is not perfect and I am working to correct it so that I may be named on the financing. My questions are- Do I have to remove my name from the deed for the home to be re-financed? Also, if my name is in fact taken off the deed am I still entitled to any proceeds at the time of sale?
